Christina Haack & ex Tarek El Moussa Share the Unintentional Ways They Embarrass Daughter Taylor & Parents of Teens Feel Seen
They may be famous reality stars, but Christina Haack and ex-husband Tarek El Moussa aren’t cool to their teen daughter Taylor. The exes recently shared how they unintentionally embarrass their 14-year-old, and it makes parents of teens feel so much better about our own embarrassing mishaps.
The HGTV stars appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday, along with El Moussa’s wife Heather Rae El Moussa. “Is your daughter at the phase where, like, you’re embarrassing her?” host Jennifer Hudson asked. Because as a mom of a 15-year-old, she knows!
Haack confirmed she is, adding, “Which, how are we embarrassing?”
“Exactly, I say the same thing! But it’s like that face,” Hudson responded.
“Oh yeah, the sound of my voice embarrasses [her], even when I’m not talking,” Tarek revealed. The sound of his voice?! Nothing you can do about that.
Christina (who is also mom to son Brayden, 9, with Tarek and son Hudson, 5, with ex Ant Anstead) added that her daughter is also embarrassed by “the songs I play when I drop her off, if the windows are down.”
“She’s embarrassed by us,” Heather Rae chimed in. She shares son Tristan, who turns 2 this week, with Tarek. “We have a Sprinter [van], and if we show up in the Sprinter, she’s like ‘Why are you in the Sprinter?’ Like everything we do, nothing is right.” Ah, been there!
She added, “I’m like ‘We’re cool! Look at us.'” If the El Moussas and Haack aren’t seen as cool by their kids, what parents have a chance?
Luckily, one thing the kids do like is how their parents are doing a show called The Flip Off together. Hudson asked how different it was to co-parent together vs. work on a show together, and Haack explained, “I think it kind of blends together, right?”
“Because like the point is it’s better for the kids when everyone’s getting along, and we genuinely are,” she continued. “And we’re having so much fun doing this show.”
“I feel like the kids love it that we’re doing a show together, and they can see their parents all working together,” Heather Rae added. “They love it. They’re very supportive.”
And it’s clear that Taylor and Brayden love their baby brother Tristan, too. Heather Rae shared a video of the kids earlier this month, as the wildfires raged in California. The kids helped Tristan get ready for naptime by playing with a balloon with him. “Nothing like the whole family to help wear out Tristan before a nap time,” Heather Rae wrote over the cute clip.
“Extra grateful for these moments right now❤️ our little family,” she added in the caption.
This family is co-parenting goals, and we love to see it!
