Police investigating homicide in Midwest City
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — Police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot in the head in Midwest City on Saturday afternoon.
According to officials, officers with the Midwest City Police Department responded to a shooting near SE 15th and Crosby Boulevard on Saturday.
Officers say prior to the gunfire, a road rage incident between two vehicles occurred on I-40.
The two vehicles came to a stop near a neighborhood in the area of Crosby Boulevard and West Rulane Drive.
Authorities say a fight occurred, leaving a man shot in the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Midwest City Police say the suspect left the scene in a black Nissan Altima. The car was later located in Del City at a fast food restaurant.
Neighbors in the area were in disbelief.
Tim Raiber has lived in his Midwest City home for five years, telling News 4, "I'm shocked to see that happening in our neighborhood. I live on the road and I saw the incident at the end of the street."
Raiber said the neighborhood is safe with all kinds of families.
"You know, the average income, a lot of older people that live here, you know, some remodeling houses with newer families like myself that are coming in, but mostly a quiet neighborhood with kids here and there," said Raiber.
Damiesha Jones lives steps away from where the incident occured.
"I initially didn't hear anything, but when I came outside, there were lots of cops," said Jones.
This is a developing story.
