With Dingumuzi Cocktail Bar serving as the host venue, Mr Valdimire Masola, the bar owner, explained that he was selected due to his establishment’s high Delta sales figures in Plumtree. “They considered this place because it has a clean record, with no reported cases of violence,” he said.

“I am delighted to host this tournament at my venue, as it’s not only brought in more customers but also boosted sales. its great marketing.” Masola added that Delta should consider promoting other indoor games like chess and darts as well.

Mr Lego Banda, the Secretary General for the Matabeleland South pool tournament, said the game has brought together individuals of different ages.

“We have 25 participants competing, and notably, older adults have shown significant interest. We encourage more women to participate in these games, as we currently have none represented in Plumtree. In our previous tournament in Gwanda, we had only five women out of 96 participants”

The winner will participate in Bulawayo for the next rounds, on a date to be announced,” said Banda
