Meet Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s son Anant Ambani’s hairstylist who styled him for his…, he is…, his fees will amaze you!
Anant Ambani’s hairstyle became a major discussion point during the wedding celebrations. But do you know who styled his hair? The answer is Aalim Hakim, one of the most well-known hairstylists in India. Aalim Hakim consistently works with India’s best stars, so it is no surprise that he is the go-to for a lot of celebs. Aalim styles Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani, Akash Ambani, and even Anand Piramal!
Aalim Hakim didn’t just do hair for Anant Ambani. Indeed, he styled the hair of Akash Ambani and Anand Piramal and more than a dozen other high-profile wedding guests like Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Hardik Pandya, and Arjun Kapoor. Aalim has been the Ambani family’s hairdresser for 10 years, and what is intriguing is that it was Ranbir Kapoor who initially introduced him to the Ambani family; from that point on, Aalim has become their hairstylist.
On July 12, 2024, Aalim Hakim put together a “man bun” look for Anant Ambani for his wedding to Radhika Merchant. The look delighted guests during the first two days of celebration, and they decided to keep it for the rest of the wedding functions. Anant’s man bun went viral on social media, and comments from X (formerly Twitter) described it as “classic and modern”. Some joked, “Anant’s hairstyle is trending more than Radhika’s bun!”

Aalim Hakim was born in Mumbai’s Bhendi Bazaar. His father, Hakim Kairanvi, was also a legendary hairstylist who styled A-list stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Dutt, Dilip Kumar, and even Bruce Lee.
In an interview with Hindi Rush, celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim revealed that he was asked to style Anant Ambani, Akash Ambani, and Anand Piramal throughout the royal wedding festivities for Anant. Aalim styled a clean, minimalistic look on Anant, with just some added gloss to give the hairstyle a naturally polished, effortless look.
“Akash is a very chilled-out man, and Anant is also very chilled out. So, I had told Anant that we would keep a man bun throughout the wedding. We will take a slightly different approach and will not let our hair loose, making a different style statement,” the hairstylist said.
“If you have seen the wedding photos, Anant had kept his hair tied back everywhere. Initially, when I did this hairstyle for the first two days, everyone liked it. So, all the stylists agreed to maintain this mood for the entire wedding. I also added some waves at the back. There was a lot of difference between Anant’s hair in real life and the one he had at the wedding,” he added.
Who introduced Aalim Hakim to Ambanis?
After the death of his father at just nine years old, Aalim Hakim took on the responsibility of supporting his family and began to cut hair, often for a meager Rs 20–30. Subsequently, he converted his balcony into a makeshift salon and practiced hairstyles on his friends. Soon, L’Oréal recognized his talent and sponsored his training abroad. By the 1990s, he had started to gain traction, and many big Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Suniel Shetty began to shape Aalim’s clientele.
However, premium styling doesn’t come cheap. As per reports, Aalim Hakim stated that his base fee for a haircut session starts somewhere from 1 lakh rupees. The flat fee is the same for everyone, whether he is cutting a celebrity’s hair or his regular client. Included in the fee is a full consultation, professional styling, and a well-finished look. He also said that he provided all services with proper documentation, including GST invoices, so there is always complete professionalism. But he claimed he never charges close friends. That’s because for him, it’s a personal relationship, and it’s about the relationship, not money.
