Rocker Unloads on Former Band Members: 'Horrible Humans'

Brent Hinds parted ways with the metal band Mastodon in March, but now it appears that there might be more to the story.

He unloaded on his former band members on their Instagram page, and it wasn't pretty.

Hinds' comment, which is no longer visible, was written on a Mastodon post on Instagram that showcased the artwork for their 2014 album, according to Blabbermouth.net and Stereogum.

The Mastodon post says, "11 more trips ‘round the sun since this was released!"

A fan wrote, "'Halloween' is definitely my #1 track on this record. Definitely gonna miss B. Hinds though," Blabbermouth reported.

Hinds wrote, "I want [sic] miss being in a s*** band with horrible humans," according to Blabbermouth and Stereogum

Fans praised the band in the comment thread.

"This was the album that got me into Mastodon! It will always have a special place in my heart. It also has my favorite bass tone of all time!" wrote one.

Fans also brought Hinds up on the comment thread, however, as news spread about his comment.

"Please get help Brent," wrote one.

In March, the band and Hinds revealed that they were parting ways, according to Stereogum.

At the time, the band and Hinds released a joint statement, Stereogum reported, that said, "Friends and Fans, After 25 monumental years together, Mastodon and Brent Hinds have mutually decided to part ways."

It continued: "We’re deeply proud of and beyond grateful for the music and history we’ve shared and we wish him nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors. We are still very inspired and excited to show up for fans in this next chapter of Mastodon. As we move forward, all 2025 touring plans will remain intact. We look forward to seeing you on the road."
