Service Oklahoma releases latest REAL ID compliance numbers
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - After six months, Service Oklahoma says the state has exceeded a 50% REAL ID compliance rate.
The milestone reflects more than 2.6 million REAL IDs issued with Service Oklahoma citing early planning, expanded access, extended hours, and multiple online tools that make access easier, quicker, and more confident for Oklahomans.
Service Oklahoma officials say the 50% compliance signals a demand-driven rollout whether one chooses a REAL ID or not. The REAL ID is optional if you already have another accepted form of identification, such as a valid passport.
"Crossing the 50% mark is proof that efficiency and access go hand-in-hand,” said Diedra O'Neil, Chief Executive of Strategy & Operations at Service Oklahoma. “By expanding hours, adding locations, and simplifying the process, we’ve made it easier than ever for Oklahomans to get a REAL ID when and where it works best for them.”
