SHARP Events: An Unforgettable Night With the Cadillac CELESTIQ in Toronto
This past week, SHARP welcomed a hand-selected group of VIP guests for an unforgettable evening dedicated to craftsmanship, innovation, and modern luxury, hosting an exclusive preview of the highly anticipated Cadillac CELESTIQ. Held in an intimate, gallery-style venue curated to match the vehicle’s bold design language, the event offered guests a unique opportunity to experience Cadillac’s ultra-luxury flagship EV for the first time. To call the CELESTIQ rare almost feels like an understatement; first customer deliveries began earlier this year, and due to the bespoke nature of its production there simply aren’t very many of them out in the wild just yet.
Guests arrived to find the CELESTIQ positioned as the evening’s centrepiece, its sculptural silhouette and dramatic lighting signature commanding the room. Attendees were then guided through a backgrounder on how the CELESTIQ came to be , and how it truly marks a new era for Cadillac. This hand-built, all-electric halo model is a stark departure from the rest of the brand’s portfolio, built on its own dedicated assembly line on the General Motors campus in Detroit, a dedicated team of only 16 craftspeople build these cars, with the ability to complete a maximum of two cars per day. It’s a throwback to the old days of Cadillac’s luxury coachbuilding, on a platform tailored to the 21st century and beyond. With its sweeping fastback profile, panoramic smart-glass roof, and a cabin tailored with artisan-level precision, the CELESTIQ captivated even the most seasoned automotive aficionados in the crowd.
One of the event’s highlights was a bespoke commissioning trunk — a condensed version of the bespoke suite in Cadillac House on the aforementioned GM campus — which elegantly displayed an extensive sampling of the spectrum of materials available to future CELESTIQ owners. Laid out with museum-like precision, the trunk featured various paint colour samples, metal trim options, custom wood veneers, and various leathers that could be part of one’s bespoke build. Guests were encouraged to explore the broad selection of options, though one of the CELESTIQ’s noteworthy selling features is the ability for buyers to personalize every inch of these vehicles. It was a tangible reminder that each CELESTIQ is a canvas for its owner.
Adding to the evening’s indulgence, The Dalmore curated a bespoke cocktail menu inspired by the craftsmanship of the car itself. Guests enjoyed rich and balanced whisky-focused creations that blended The Dalmore’s signature flavour with modern mixology. Of course, tasting of individual expressions of the brand’s fine whiskies were also on offer, including the 12-year Sherry Cask Select, the Cigar Malt, and King Alexander III.
Across the room, Swiss luxury watchmaker Blancpain — through their retail partner Royal De Versailles — showcased a selection of its finest timepieces, echoing the intersection of heritage and modernity in a manner much akin to Cadillac’s efforts with CELESTIQ. A broad swath of the brand’s current collection was on display, including dressy and refined references from the Villeret collection, juxtaposed by the robustness of Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms dive watches and the iconic Air Command pilot chronograph.
By the end of the evening, guests left with a deeper appreciation for Cadillac’s bold vision. The CELESTIQ, in all its hand-crafted glory, proved not just a car to admire, but one to experience.
