Sports briefs: Caruso nets four to lift Tam past Terra Linda

Sophomore Marco Caruso scored four times to lead the Tam High boys soccer team to its second consecutive victory against a perennial MCAL playoff contender — a 5-0 victory against Terra Linda on Monday.

The Red-tailed Hawks (2-0-1), fresh off a 1-0 win against Archie Williams on Friday, also got a goal from Buba Mane. Luke Nurney and Devin Perkins both had two assists against TL (0-3-0).

Tam is set to host Montgomery at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Girls soccer

Gianna Grasso netted a hat trick to lead San Marin to a 4-1 victory against Berean Christian on Monday. Grasso also provided the assist on the team’s other goal, scored by Tatum D’Angelica. Samantha Rodas also had an assist for the Mustangs (4-0-1).
