Ariana Grande Makes Rare Comments About Ex Mac Miller 7 Years After His Death
Ariana Grande is reflecting on her relationship with ex Mac Miller, seven years after his death.
If you forgot, the 32-year-old “God is a woman” singer and the “Self Care” rapper went public with their relationship in 2016 and dated for nearly two years before splitting in May 2018. Months later, Mac died of an accidental overdose in September. He was 26-years-old.
During a recent appearance at Chapman University, Ariana reflected on how Mac encouraged her to “make R&B influenced pop music.”

While noting that Mac‘s advice was the reason he appeared on her 2013 song “The Way,” Ariana added, “That’s also part of why I was so eager to ask him to be a part of it.”
“Not only because he was perfect for the song,” she continued, “but I also felt like I had him to thank for finding my sound.”
Along with “The Way,” Ariana and Mac also collaborated on his 2016 song “My Favorite Part” and on the remix of her song “Into You,” which was also released in 2016.
Back in 2023, Ariana sent love to Mac while celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album Yours Truly.
