Perfect news for Amorim: 22yo Man Utd man makes long-awaited training return

Manchester United have received a major fitness boost ahead of a crucial phase of the season.

According to the reliable insider Sully Talkz, Benjamin Sesko has returned to individual grass training as he steps up his recovery.

Sesko suffered a knee injury in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last month.

He came on as a substitute but the club’s medical team decided to take him off late in the second half.

The Slovenia international is now getting closer to a return, with staff happy with his rehabilitation process so far.

United head coach Ruben Amorim previously stated that the 22-year-old would need around a month to return, and that timeline now looks spot on.

If all goes well, Sesko could rejoin full-team training in the coming days.

Amorim will be thrilled to welcome him back, especially with Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui preparing to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The tournament runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

Mbeumo and Diallo have been two of the most crucial attackers for the Red Devils this campaign.

Their absence will be deeply felt, particularly with Amorim remaining firmly committed to his 3-4-2-1 system.

Joshua Zirkzee has started the last two games, netting his maiden goal of the 2025-26 campaign against Crystal Palace.

Sesko’s arrival could force Zirkzee back onto the bench unless Amorim decides to use the Dutchman in one of the two number 10 positions.

Sesko has enjoyed a promising start to life at Old Trafford, scoring twice and providing an assist in just 616 Premier League minutes.
