Alliance Tournament XXI Wrap-Up

Competitive capsuleers,

Alliance Tournament XXI has concluded. Last year's returning champions, The Tuskers Co., once again entered the arena. This time, they faced a new opponent, Meta Reloaded, in a best-of-five series.

The Tuskers Co. seemed set for victory after winning two matches in a row. Meta Reloaded came back to win the third match.

The Tuskers Co. kept their flagship throughout the tournament, surviving until the fourth match, where it fell (at a Zkill estimated 170b ISK kill).

Ultimately, The Tuskers Co. pulled through and were crowned champions of Alliance Tournament XXI!

Warlock Industries joined us over in Reykjavik for the broadcast and put together a recap video for the broadcast, which you can check out:

If you missed any of the action, you will find the Tournament broadcast on YouTube. Every match and participating alliance is listed in the description for each day, so you can easily find a particular match or team.

Prize Delivery

This year’s prizes are being delivered directly to the hangars of the winning teams’ alliance executors. The IGC handles delivery in Jita 4-4. Victorious teams receive stunning Caldari Victory SKINs as well as the tournament prize ships, the Skua and the Anhinga.

Ten Caldari Victory SKINs, for nine different ships, are awarded for each victory in both the “best of” series and the feeder tournament. The SKINs in the victory set are:

  • Kestrel Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Kitsune Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Stork Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Basilisk Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Cerberus Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Ferox Navy Issue Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Nighthawk Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Rokh Caldari Victory SKIN

  • Scorpion Navy Issue Caldari Victory SKIN

This year's prize hulls are based on classic Caldari ships:

  • The Skua is based on the Jackdaw hull, expanding its capabilities into Command Destroyer roles while gaining range for its missile and rocket launching capabilities.

  • The Anhinga, based on the Naga hull, resembles a Tech III Destroyer with unique mode switching capabilities.

    • The Anhinga replaces the traditional turret hardpoints with missile hardpoints as well, gaining extra bonuses depending on the active mode.

In the system of Manarq, the Alliance Tournament Monument stands as a beacon. The Tuskers Co. alliance logo has now been added to commemorate their victory in ATXXI!

1350

A slight change in the feeder tournament format increased the number of SKINs awarded: Alliance Tournament XX awarded 1341 SKINs, Alliance Tournament XXI awarded 1350 SKINs!

Note: In our final Gridlocked podcast episode, CCP Bee and CCP Jötunn tried out the Anhinga and Skua. The stats have changed since then, since they were still being tested at that time. After the recording, we found skills weren’t applied correctly and were set to weaker/rank 1 variations. We had to adjust one Skua bonus. The 66.6% shield recharge time in defensive mode has been reduced back to 33.3%.

Medals

Two types of medals are being distributed for Alliance Tournament XXI: tradeable medals and decoration medals (shown on character info).    Based on feedback, the IGC adjusted decoration medal distribution to include the top twelve placements. Medals are awarded to the first, second, third, top eight, top twelve, top sixteen, and top thirty-two finishers, and are sent to all registered pilots on the respective teams' rosters.

Tradeable medals go to rostered members of the top three teams.

Trophy

The physical trophy displayed at Fanfest in 2025 will be updated with this year’s winners and displayed at Fanfest 2026.

So, what's next?

If the Alliance Tournament also got you interested in competitive tournament play, the Anger Games will be returning for the 7th time early next year!

They’ve just announced their updated format and are actively in discussions with the rest of the community about what they might find fun and challenging to play around with. They’re aiming to host a two-stage 7v7 tournament with up to 60 teams, starting with a round-robin format before transitioning into a second-stage double-elimination tournament with 24 teams. While it shares similarities with the Alliance Tournament, in that it's structured PvP, community tournaments are typically run entirely on Thunderdome, where the rules and constraints can be looser, allowing creativity to flow. If you’re interested in staying up to date, consider joining a team, volunteering, or contributing ideas; their Discord is open to all. Drop in and see what’s up!

Final Thanks

With all of that, we would like to thank all who contributed or tuned in during this year’s Alliance Tournament. Extra special thanks go out to the amazing guest talent who joined us in Iceland, helping us keep you all entertained, as well as to all the fantastic volunteers. You were more than just icing on the AT XXI cake - it simply wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Thank you again for being part of Alliance Tournament XXI. Keep an eye out early next year for more details on the next tournament and opportunities to get involved. Until then, fly safe, and we hope to see you in the arena soon!
