Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders Top Democratic Favorability Ratings; Gavin Newsom, Tim Walz Lagging

Registered Democrats have made their feelings known about their favorite politicians.

According to polling carried out by JLPartners and conducted for Mail Online, both Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris top out the net favorability ratings.

This makes them even more popular among the Democratic faithful than Santa Claus.

Yet given many Democrats’ hatred for Christianity and the holiday season, perhaps this should not be surprising.

Mail Online reported:

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a former Democrat-turned-independent who promised free healthcare, free college, and free preschool during his 2016 and 2020 campaigns for the presidency, is officially his party’s favorite old white man from the North.

Results from a poll by JL Partners conducted exclusively for the Daily Mail revealed that Democrats viewed Bernie Sanders as the most favorable political figure, with the ornery senator coming out on top with a net favorability of 65 points.

Santa’s net favorability was 59 points, lending Sanders a slight but noticeable advantage – especially around this time of year when Santa’s approval usually spikes.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris was seen favorably by the highest number of Democrats, 78 percent, but her higher unfavorable rating dropped her below Sanders to a net of 62 points.

However, figures such as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and California Governor Gavin Newsom had net favorability ratings of 40 and 37.

The findings raise more questions than answers about the state of the 2028 presidential campaign and who the Democrats will choose as their nominee.

The latest RealClearPolling average shows Newsom as the slight favorite to clinch the Democratic nomination, although only marginally in front of Kamala Harris.

Newsom is currently polling at an average of 23.6 percent compared to Harris’s 21.4 percent.

Trailing them are former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on 11 percent, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on 7.7 percent, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker on 4.8 percent and Pennsylavania Governor Josh Shapiro on 4.6 percent.
