Netflix Will Lose Seven Anime Series in 2026 in a Huge Blow to Subscribers
In 2025, Netflix users have repeatedly been disappointed to learn that some of the streaming service's content has been leaving its media library. Unfortunately, the fact is that more movies and TV shows will cease being available to watch on the streaming service in the months to come.
Over the next 12 months, more than 100 Netflix Originals will be leaving the company's media library. As big of a blow as that will be for many of the company's users, there is more bad news because it has now been revealed that several anime series will leave Netflix in 2026.
Netflix's Anime Exits of 2026: Iconic Series Mob Psycho 100 Among Shows Departing the Platform
In December 2025, Screen Rant published an article that revealed that seven anime series will be leaving Netflix's media library in 2026. That list includes an iconic anime series, Mob Psycho 100, whose departure will no doubt be seen as a major disappointment to many Netflix users who are devoted anime fans. The impending exit of From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke seasons one through three will also be considered a very big deal for many viewers.

Why Netflix Losing Seven Anime Series Is Such a Big Disappointment
Since Netflix's whole business model is based on users being able to reliably watch entertaining shows and movies, titles leaving the streaming service will always be bad news for many people. Still, the news that seven anime series are set to depart Netflix in 2026 is an especially major disappointment for one reason. It has become clear that anime has taken Netflix by storm in a major way.
On December 21, 2025, Netflix's official website published an article looking at the future of anime on the streaming service in 2026. During the intro to that article, the company stated a fascinating fact that proves how much the streaming service's users have embraced the anime entertainment genre.
"With more than half of Netflix’s members watching anime, there’s no denying the genre’s global impact."
If that quote wasn't illustrative enough, the fact that the company's own website states that KPop Demon Hunters is the most-watched Netflix movie ever further proves that the company's customers love anime. As a result, it is clear that so many notable anime series leaving the streaming service's offerings has to be considered a major blow for those fans and the company that certainly wants to keep them as customers. Fortunately for all involved, Netflix will continue to have several anime movies and shows available to stream when 2026 ends.
