There is a pivotal scene in the sports dramedy from director Josh Safdie that features the 30-year-old actor getting spanked about 20 times in a row with a ping-pong paddle by Kevin O’Leary‘s character Milton Rockwell.

Milton, who is married to Gwyneth Paltrow‘s character Kay Stone, takes out his aggression on Marty for insulting him multiple times throughout the film.

Speaking of the scene, the Shark Tank judge told Variety that his character “never felt satisfied that he suffered enough for what he did.”

“Even now, I’m still pissed,” Kevin added.

According to him, the scene went on for hours, until 4 in the morning, because the director demanded around 40 takes. Not only that, but Kevin was using a real paddle because the prop one broke almost immediately.
