Derrick White Joins NBA History In Celtics’ Win Over Jazz

The Boston Celtics secured an impressive 129 to 119 victory against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, with guard Derrick White shining as the standout performer.

White finished the game with 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and seven blocks. White is recognized as a standout defender, but recording seven blocks in a single game is truly remarkable.

It’s tough for any player to record seven blocks in a game, but for a 6-foot-4 guard, it becomes even more challenging.

White’s seven blocks have now tied him for the most by a guard in a single game, according to Basketball Reference.

Four other guards in NBA history recorded seven blocks in a game: Doug Christie, Tracy McGrady, Dennis Johnson and George Gervin.

Since being traded to the Celtics in 2022, White has established himself as one of Boston’s standout players. With Jayson Tatum sidelined due to a torn Achilles this season, White has stepped up significantly, taking on a much larger role.
