Swell and wind and grey
Hello Friends,
The usual schedule doesn’t usually survive the Christmas-New Years stretch. The original plans to be early to the beach for the last of the day of the year didn’t come to pass. By the time I fetched up at Northy, the 10-15 kt SSE wind was making a mess of surface conditions. At 0900 the MHL buoy was showing 2 metres of 10-second east swell. That was translating into 1.5x overhead faces at Northy, but the wind was really taking a toll. Not a classic session for the healthy crew in the water.
At the other end of the beach, Collaroy was less junky, but struggling to make the chest high mark on the biggest sets.
The swell should stick around at about the current intensity and direction through tomorrow. Unfortunately the wind call is for steady southerly conditions from daybreak – and the weather’s expected to be showery.
Have a great NYE everybody and see you next year.
