I understand with Klarer and others out someone had to wear the armband ....... but that's about all he did in that department.
We actually need leaders in each of the 3 areas of the pitch, have done all season.
While I'm at it we don't need an England Under 21 goalkeeper either who constantly punches or parries the ball rather than attempting to catch / claim it. I can barely believe Beadle has been capped at almost every age level as an England International with that weakness in his locker.
Davies's assessment that we're just not playing quickly enough, moving the ball and progressing is bang-on. Trouble is that issue has dogged us for most of this season and both he and the players are still struggling to address it.
Most opponents have looked fitter and stronger than us and whilst we can't alter that overnight it's essential that all and sundry recognise the 2 issues and strive to improve those 2 aspects of performance at every opportunity....... starting with this transfer window.
