Police Investigating Skier Death at Popular Colorado Ski Resort
Local authorities are investigating the death of a skier at Keystone Resort, Colorado, according to a news release shared by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said deputies responded after a report at about 12:20 p.m. of an unresponsive skier on The Grizz, an advanced trail near Keystone’s Outback Express chairlift.
The skier was a man visiting from Colorado’s Front Range, the police added, and was found by other guests who immediately started CPR and called for help.

Keystone’s ski patrollers responded to the incident and provided life-saving measures, police said. Then, the skier was transported to a helicopter landing zone before being taken to St. Anthony Summit Hospital by Flight for Life.
At the hospital, the skier was pronounced dead, police said.
The skier was wearing a helmet, police said, but noted that there were no more details to share. “Our hearts go out to the family and friends affected by this tragic loss,” said Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons in the news release.
The Summit County Coroner’s Office, which is responsible for determining the cause of death, will identify the skier at a later time.
