Chargers’ Justin Herbert Makes Feelings Clear On His Performance Against Patriots
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert wasn’t happy with his play on Sunday against the New England Patriots.
The Chargers struggled offensively as Los Angeles suffered a 16-3 loss in the wild-card round. It was a disappointing loss for the Chargers, and Herbert admitted he wasn’t good enough.
“Yeah, not good enough,” Herbert said postgame on Sunday after the Chargers offense. “We got to score points, and defense gave us every shot we needed to and wasn’t enough.”
Herbert finished the game going 19-of-31 for 159 yards, as Los Angeles failed to get into the endzone. The quarterback also praised the Patriots’ defense for limiting him and the offense.
“They played well,” Herbert added. “We got nothing but respect for them. As an offense it wasn’t good enough today and I didn’t play well enough and didn’t make any plays. When it mattered most we didn’t score any points.
Although Herbert was disappointed with his performance, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh was proud of his quarterback.
“Warrior,” Harbaugh said postgame about Herbert. “Doing anything and everything he could to move our team and get us in the end zone. … He just gives it everything he has all the time.”
With the loss, the Chargers are back to the drawing board and will begin their offseason work.
