Austrian Post Wins Major Federal Contract for International Mail
Österreichische Post AG has successfully won two out of three lots in the tender for a framework agreement of the Federal Procurement GmbH for the international letter dispatch of the Federal Government in the period 2026 to 2030. These are the lots that are intended for regular letter mail and therefore also provide for regular collection by Swiss Post for medium and high mail volumes.
In addition to the federal government, the federal states and other public bodies such as health care facilities, offices and courts also have the option of commissioning international letter dispatch by post via this framework agreement.
Thomas Auböck, Head of the Mail & Direct Mail Business Unit, Österreichische Post AG: “We are very pleased that we were able to prevail in these two lots. Austrian Post was the best bidder in these areas and is thus once again responsible for the fast and reliable processing of important and regular letter mail such as financial and judicial mail abroad. Especially with such sensitive content, a trustworthy partner like Austrian Post is needed.”
For international letter mail, Austrian Post works exclusively with the respective national postal companies, which ensures the highest quality and delivery standards. The letters are routed directly via Swiss Post’s logistics hubs in Austria for processing abroad without any additional intermediate steps. This makes the Austrian postage paid note an important quality feature for state shipments to Austrians abroad.
