Nationwide Chocolate Bar Recall Expanded in New FDA Announcement
Spring & Mulberry has expanded its earlier recall of its Mint Leaf date-sweetened dark chocolate to include several more varieties, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed in a new press release Thursday.
Now, the Raleigh, North Carolina-based company is also recalling batches of seven other flavors over possible Salmonella exposure.
What other Spring & Mulberry bars have been recalled?
In addition to Mint Leaf, Spring & Mulberry's recall now covers different lots of its Earl Grey, Lavender Rose, Mango Chili, Mixed Berry, Mulberry Fennel, Pacan Date and Pure Dark Minis chocolate bars.
"The affected products were available for purchase online and through select retail partners nationwide since September 15, 2025," said the FDA announcement. "The recalled products can be identified by brand name (Spring & Mulberry), with the following identifiers: flavor name, lot codes, and box color. The lot code is listed on the back of the packaging and inner flow wrap."

"The potential for contamination was first noted after routine third-party testing conducted by the company’s contract manufacturer revealed finished product tested positive for Salmonella," the FDA said.
What is Salmonella?
Salmonella is an organism that, in healthy individuals, can cause an infection that produces various gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea, vomiting and cramps. The bacteria can also produce more serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.
As of this writing, no illnesses have been reported in relation to the consumption of these products.
What to do if you have these products
If you have purchased any of the lots of Spring & Mulberry chocolate bars listed above, the company and the FDA ask that you do not consume them and dispose of them immediately.
