Dodgers, Kyle Tucker Reportedly Agree To Four-Year, $240 Million Contract

The Kyle Tucker sweepstakes appear to be over. Tucker and the Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly in agreement on a free agent contract, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan, who broke the news on Thursday night.

Passan also revealed the terms of the deal, citing FanSided’s Robert Murray as his source. It’s reportedly a four-year, $240 million contract with opt-outs after the second and third seasons.

Tucker’s 2025 campaign with the Chicago Cubs featured strong moments amid challenges. Traded from the Houston Astros before the season, he delivered a .266 batting average, 22 home runs, 73 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases across 136 games. His early dominance earned an All-Star selection and a Silver Slugger award, aiding the Cubs’ push to the playoffs. Injuries disrupted his rhythm, including a right hand fracture in June and a calf strain in September, leading to a second-half slump. In the postseason, Tucker batted .259 with one homer and one RBI over eight games as Chicago fell in the NLDS.

Throughout his career since debuting in 2018, Tucker has compiled a .273 average, 147 homers, 490 RBIs, and 119 steals in 769 games, mostly with Houston, where he contributed to the 2022 World Series title. He’s posted a career .865 OPS and 27.3 WAR.
