Interceptor boats for Gahirmatha patrolling lying idle
Two modernised interceptor boats, costing Rs 4 crore, procured in 2016 to protect Olive Ridley turtles at Gahirmatha marine sanctuary are lying idle for years due to technical problems. This failure significantly hampers surveillance efforts, forcing forest officials to hire fishing trawlers for patrolling.
