“I mean, he’s Canadian, so there’s an advantage there,” Jimmy told EW, referring to both Hudson and Lorne Michaels being from Canada. “They look out for each other!”

Jimmy also recently recalled the fan frenzy over Hudson‘s appearance on The Tonight Show.

“The night before I came into work, someone called and said, ‘Hey, there’s a line outside 30 Rock that’s probably 150 people long,’” he said to EW. “I go, ‘For, for Hudson?’ They go, ‘For Hudson Williams!’ They were freaking out. [Fans] flew here! I’m like, ‘This is so fun.’”

“It’s so funny when you get to see these, kind of almost unknowns become household names almost overnight,” he added. “We booked Hudson probably six weeks ago when the show had some buzz, but it wasn’t the biggest thing on everyone’s minds, you know?”

Jimmy said that night was “one of the hottest audiences we’ve ever had,” and added he would “put it up there with BTS or Harry Styles. I mean, they went bonkers.”
