Most Anticipated PS5 Games for 2026 include Major Franchises

Sony recently published a list of most anticipated games for PlayStation 5 for the coming year, and it is an impressive list. 

Big name games include titles featuring Wolverines, Batman, Dune, James Bond, Halo and Resident Evil. 

Here’s what to expect. 

Cue up familiar heroes  

Last in alphabetical order but first on the marquee is Marvel’s Wolverine. 

This highly anticipated game from Insomnia Games will allow users to take control of Logan and guide him as he searches for answers about his mysterious past. 

Also coming from the world of Marvel is Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a 4x4 tag team fighter that will include Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, and many other characters from the Marvel Universe. This game is a product of a collaboration between PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works and Marvel Games. It will be available for PS5 and the PC.

Wolverine isn’t the only hero with some skeletons in the closet who will be coming to PS5 this year. 

Fans can also look for a new James Bond game, 007: First Light, as well as a Batman title. 

007 First Light will give players a chance to take control of a young James Bond as he enters the MI6 training program and learn much more about his origin story. 

As for Bruce Wayne's world, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an open-world game that will let players combine melee combat with stealth detective work in the Lego theme. 

Dune, Halo, and Resident Evil games are also on the way 

Among the most-anticipated games is Halo: Campaign Evolved, the first edition of the iconic first-person shooter to appear on the PlayStation platform, along with Dune: Awakening and Resident Evil Requiem. 

Halo: Campaign Evolved will bring the origin of the Master Chief story in a rebuilt game for a new generation that features new missions, weapons, vehicles, and enemies. 

Dune: Awakening is a survival RPG in the open world of Arrakis that presents the opportunity to play solo or with friends in the science-fiction classic franchise that has been entertaining gamers for decades on multiple platforms. 

RE: Requiem takes place back where it all began in Raccoon city with an FBI intelligence analyst trying to solve puzzles and survive combat in an all-new edition of the iconic horror game.

What else is coming? 

Other games to watch for this year include Marathon, a PvP combat game in the dark sci-fi world of Tau Ceti IV; Crimson Desert, a single-player action-adventure game; and Saros, a new sci-fi action game that is a PS5 exclusive. 

Marathon is from the makers of Halo and Destiny.
