SDP leadership holds crisis meeting over misconduct cases

The leadership of Finland’s Social Democratic Party (SDP) held a closed-door crisis meeting in Helsinki on Friday following reports of inappropriate behaviour by several of its members of parliament.

The cases include alleged misconduct by Marko Asell, Kim Berg, and Jani Kokko, spanning incidents from a summer meeting in 2023 to the parliament’s Christmas party in November.

Party chair Antti Lindtman and parliamentary group leader Tytti Tuppurainen stated they were unaware of the incidents until the past week.
