'Dark to Light' Lyrics: Louis Tomlinson Seemingly Pays Tribute to Late Liam Payne on Emotional Song

Louis Tomlinson is paying tribute to Liam Payne.

The One Direction singer shared his new album How Did I Get Here? on Friday (January 23), and one of the songs is seemingly in honor of his late bandmate, who passed away in 2024.

“I wish you could see how you look in my eyes one more time / Would it make a difference? Would it make you smile? / Could it bring you from dark to light?” he sings.

Liam had gotten a tattoo that read “Where dark meets light” on his chest one year before his death.

Liam and Louis also co-wrote a One Direction song called “Through the Dark.”

Louis recently opened up about how he learned about Liam‘s passing.

During that same interview, he said: “If he could just see, just for five minutes…just live in your head, or my head, and see how we perceive him, he would be so shocked.”
