General Football forum • Re: Saturday 3pm blackout talks
In a completely unfettered free market, the logical model is club specific TV season tickets with income split between broadcaster and club but it becomes difficult to negotiate that collectively because the broadcaster and United/Lpool would probably be rolling in it for their 38 games but Bournemouth sales probably aren't going to cover the cost of the film crew. They've had a ridiculous business model. Thousands of pounds for 100s of games you dont want and only 75% of the games you do.
I would probably pay to watch all 38 of our games and nothing else but it does depend on how much
The collectively negotiated TV deal has to some extent, lessened the gap between richest and poorest and you can see why the Sly 6 in particular hate it.
Broadcasters have almost got round the 3pm blackout for PL games by moving so many of them away from that slot and generally leaving less enticing fixtures in that slot anyway.
