Warning: This article contains spoilers for the final of The Traitors UK.

The Traitors champion Rachel is opening up about her plans for her hefty prize money.

During Friday’s dramatic final, Rachel and fellow finalist Stephen made history as the first pair of Traitors to win the UK show, splitting the £95,750 prize money between them as a result.

Over the course of the series, Rachel shared her hopes to use any money raised on the show to treat her children, as well as her mum, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when she was in her 40s and now has dementia.

Speaking to the Daily Mail after the finale aired, she shared: “haven’t spent any of the money yet. I think I’m going to sit down with the kids, my husband and my mum and just think what could we do to have fun together.”

Rachel continued: “The show was recorded in May so at that time her condition wasn’t as severe as it is now, so she’s not fit to travel as much.

“We’re trying to do something closer to home so I can’t wait to just sit in front of her and say, ‘Mummy, what do you want to do, what can we do that you would just love?’. God only knows what she’s going to say, but I can’t wait!”

However, there is one somewhat surprising venture she’ll be using her new combined money and status to put towards – and she’s quite literally taking a leaf out of her Traitors rival Harriet’s book.

“I’ve written a book, it’s taken 10 years to write and it’s about murder and lies so it’s quite appropriate,” she revealed. “Maybe now is the time to get that published.”

Rachel added: “It’s a contemporary fantasy novel for young adults all about Irish redheads in a magical forest and a bit of murder thrown in.”

Anyone already missing The Traitors will be pleased to hear that its celebrity counterpart will be returning to our screens later this year with an exciting new star-studded cast.

Before that, though, there are always the several international versions of the show to stream on BBC iPlayer, not to mention The Traitors live experience in London, in addition to an upcoming stage show based on the reality TV format in the works for the West End in 2027.
