The Traitors Is Being Turned Into A 'Theatrical Experience' For The West End Stage
Since The Traitors first hit our screens just over three years ago, the show’s success has only continued to balloon, leading to a celebrity series, a hit board game, more merchandise than you could shake a green cloak at and even a “live” experience in London that puts you and your friends right at the roundtable.
But now… who’s ready to watch The Traitors on the West End stage?
Yes, following on from 2023’s Great British Bake Off musical, it’s been announced that The Traitors is being turned into a new stage play.
Set to arrive in London’s West End in 2027, the new play will be written by John Finnemore, whose work includes the TV shows Good Omens and the radio play Cabin Pressure.
Robert Hastie will be on directing duties, following the success of his productions of Standing On The Sky’s Edge and Operation Mincemeat.
Stephen Lambert of the TV production company Studio Lambert enthused: “Taking The Traitors from screen to stage is a hugely exciting next step for this much-loved brand.
“Partnering with Neal Street Productions, a true theatrical powerhouse, allows us to reimagine the show as a bold and surprising theatrical performance. Faithful fans should expect an intense, joyful night out as we reveal a thrilling new hunting ground for our Traitors.”
The most recent season of The Traitors UK came to an end on Friday night, with a dramatic turn of events that had viewers gripped.
Later this year, the show will return for its second celebrity edition, with various international versions also available to stream on BBC iPlayer now, including the newly-added The Traitors Ireland, with Derry Girls favourite Siobhán McSweeney at the helm.
Applications are also now open for the fifth season of The Traitors UK, which is expected to return to BBC One in early January 2027.
