Bruce Springsteen Performs New Anti-ICE Song for Minnesota's National Shutdown Protest

Bruce Springsteen performed at Minnesota’s National Shutdown protest today.

Just a few days after the 76-year-old musician released his song “Streets of Minneapolis” in response to the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, he went to Minneapolis to play the song at a Defend Minnesota! benefit show hosted by the venue First Avenue, per NBC News.

His song held the No. 1 position on Friday morning (January 30).

Tom Morello previously teased Bruce‘s involvement on his Instagram when he advertised the show.

“We are coming to Minneapolis where the people have heroically stood up against ICE, stood up against Trump, stood up against this terrible rising tide of state terror. Where the people have stood up for their neighbors and themselves, for democracy and justice. Ain’t nobody coming to save us except us and it’s now or never,” he wrote in the caption, adding that all proceeds would go to the families of those murdered by ICE in Minneapolis, namely Good and Pretti.
