'Grand Theft Auto 6' Gets Encouraging Release Date Update

Grand Theft Auto 6 has been through the wringer with its release scheduling. But now, it seems like the once-unsure November release date may be more realistic.

Earlier today, during developer Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive's, quarterly earnings call for quarter three of 2026, Take-Two reaffirmed that GTA 6 is indeed still planned for release in November this year.

Additionally, sent in a report to IGN, Take-Two Interactive confirmed marketing plans for the game will begin this summer. "Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary, and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19 release of Grand Theft Auto 6 with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer," wrote Take-Two Interactive in its statement to IGN.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the release date earlier today, also by IGN, and Zelnick seems quite confident. "I feel good about it. Very good about it," said Zelnick.

However, Zelnick had previously felt confident about the game's release date before inevitable delays, and IGN asked him what makes this go-around different. "Because any time you're getting closer to marketing beats, you're obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be," responded Zelnick.

With marketing set for the summer, it seems we may have to wait until then to get the game's next trailer. If the November release date is still at the end of the trailers, then the game seems to be on track for its scheduled release date.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is widely estimated to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history and one of the most anticipated games of 2026, so much so that other video game developers and publishers have reportedly been keeping a close eye on Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, as they plan their own game launches around Grand Theft Auto 6's release.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
