Ronald Hicks to be installed as 11th archbishop of New York

Ronald Hicks is set to be installed as the 11th archbishop of New York on Friday. The 2 p.m. ceremony will take place at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan. Hicks plans to discuss his vision for the archdiocese, including evangelizing and passing on the faith to the next generations. Hicks, who was previously the bishop of Joliet, Illinois, was chosen by Pope Leo XIV in December to replace the retiring Cardinal Timothy Dolan. The Archdiocese of New York is one of the nation's largest, serving roughly 2.5 million Catholics in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island in New York City, as well as seven counties to the north.
