On Friday night (February 5), Trump shared a video on Truth Social that featured unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud during the 2020 election, where he lost to Joe Biden.
At the end of the clip, Barack and Michelle‘s faces are superimposed on the bodies of two animated apes dancing to the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

“Disgusting behavior by the President,” California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote on X. “Every single Republican must denounce this. Now.”
Despite the backlash, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is defending Trump‘s actions yet again.
“This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from The Lion King,” she shared in a statement with People. “Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public.”
The original video that Leavitt is referencing to shows Trump‘s head superimposed on the body of a lion while Biden and Hillary Clinton‘s faces are edited over other animal faces.
As of right now, Barack and Michelle Obama have not publicly addressed the video.
If you didn’t see, Trump is seemingly backtracking on his promise to give Americans $2,000 tariff checks.
