Neil Young Cancels His Tour in Heartfelt Apology to Fans, Says It's 'Not the Time'

Neil Young has some bad news for fans who were looking forward to seeing him on tour this summer.

On Friday (February 6), the 80-year-old “Heart of Gold” crooner took to his website to issue a statement explaining the decision.

“I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts,” he wrote.

He signed off, writing, “LOVE Neil” and “Be well.”

Neil was supposed to start a string of shows with a performance in the United Kingdom on June 17 in Bodelva. Afterwards, he had shows scheduled across the U.K., France, Ireland, Netherland and Switzerland before wrapping in Italy in July.

The hitmaker didn’t offer more of an explanation. Dates on his Ticketmaster account already read that they’ve been cancelled.
