The Backstreet Boys want it that way in the T-Mobile Super Bowl ad!
The iconic boy band appears in the phone company’s commercial, airing during the Big Game on Sunday (February 8).
During the commercial, the group sings their classic hit “I Want it That Way,” along with some really fun celebrity cameos!

BSB takes over the Times Square store in the ad and surprises real-life customers, as well as heading out into Times Square.
You can see stars like Druski (who sobs for the group!), Pierson Fodé holding a sign, and Machine Gun Kelly at the end – who doesn’t quite get the same love as the band during his own big reveal.
“Tell me why it’s America’s best network, tell me why Netflix is included, and lots of perks,” they sing in the new version of the song.
The campaign was shot by Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink and produced by Panay Films, the creative agency led by Wedding Crashers producer Andrew Panay, who saw the group perform at the Sphere last year in Las Vegas and called it a “spiritual” experience.
“I’m like, these guys are off the charts vibrating,” he told ADWEEK before making calls.
“I licensed the song, I put money down, and then more brands came after it. There wasn’t a bidding war, but there could have been, but I stopped it…I knew that only they could [do it]. I didn’t want to license it and have other people do it,” he added of getting the band involved.
“You’ve got to swing, you’ve got to risk, and you’ve got to go for it. Because if you play it safe and you play it in the middle, number one, I feel it on the [Super] Bowl when I see those safe spots I go, ‘I’m not doing that.’ T-Mobile is not [doing that]. They’re gamblers. They’re not sitting back. That’s where they come from.”
He added that the band members are “beautiful human beings” and he’d never “seen anybody care more” than the Backstreet Boys about delivering excellence. Watch above!
