MACRA Director Dies in Ntcheu Road Accident

Police in Ntcheu District have confirmed the death of Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Director of Telecommunications, Edward Kauka, following a road accident that occurred in the district on Sunday.

Ntcheu Police spokesperson Jacob Khembo said Kauka, 56, was driving from Chingeni towards Zalewa when his vehicle, allegedly traveling at high speed, veered off the road near Chidokowe Village and overturned.

Khembo said Kauka sustained serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to Balaka Hospital by well-wishers, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The late Kauka hailed from Njerengwa Village under Senior Chief Mwaulambiya in Chitipa District.
