Bangladesh votes in landmark polls after deadly uprising, Sheikh Hasina's ouster

Bangladesh votes on Thursday in its first election since a deadly 2024 uprising. Tarique Rahman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is a leading contender. He faces a challenge from Jamaat-e-Islami, the country's largest Islamist party. Interim leader Muhammad Yunus has overseen reforms. Voters will also decide on constitutional changes in a referendum.
