Andrew Hilman passes Riordan program legend Kevin Restani in career points

Andrew Hilman has made history at Archbishop Riordan.

By scoring against Sacred Heart Cathedral on Wednesday night in San Francisco, Hilman passed Riordan boys basketball legend Kevin Restani for fourth all-time on the Crusaders’ career scoring list.

Restani is a hallowed figure at Riordan, a former NBA player for the Milwaukee Bucks, Kansas City Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers. He is the namesake of the Crusaders’ home court, a native of the City who died of a heart attack at age 58 in 2010.

Riordan dedicated the court at the Crusader Forum in Restani’s honor in 2018. Restani played his college ball at USF and was a third-round draft choice of the Cavs in 1974.

Hilman, a senior, is following in Restani’s footsteps as a USF signee. Now, he has passed a program icon by eclipsing Restani’s 1,384 career points on Kevin Restani Court Wednesday night.

A native of Cameroon, Hilman is a four-year varsity player at Riordan and helped lead the Crusaders to the CIF Open Division state championship game last season.
