Rio De Janeiro recommendations

Been in Brazil just over a month now and have just arrived in Rio for Carnival. I'll be stopping in an Airbnb as sleeping in my VW during carnival doesn't sound appealing.

Has anyone been to Rio and if so, have you got any recommendations other than the obvious stuff like Cristo?
