Initial trends show Congress leading Telangana civic polls
Counting is underway for Telangana Municipal elections. The ruling Congress party is currently leading over the BRS and BJP. Results from 2,582 wards in 116 municipalities are being tallied. This election outcome is seen as a key indicator of popularity for all parties. Over 73 percent of voters participated. Security is tight at counting centers across the state.
