President-chaired national water committee formed to tackle water crisis

Government is establishing a National Water Crisis Committee, chaired by President Cyril Ramaphosa, to tackle South Africa’s prolonged water crisis. While longer-term reforms are under way, led by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), there is a need, in the short term, to address the immediate crisis where water outages are currently being experienced.
