Tottenham shortlist two new managers as interviews start to replace Thomas Frank
Tottenham Hotspur have begun interviewing candidates for the vacant managerial position at the club, and two new names have emerged on their shortlist.
It has only been two days since Thomas Frank was removed from his position as Tottenham Hotspur manager, but work is already underway to secure the Dane’s successor.
Spurs have already faced some setbacks, with Andoni Iraola unwilling to swap Bournemouth for Tottenham, a manager who was linked with the club after Ange Postecoglou was sacked.
This theme of setbacks has continued, as Robert De Zerbi is not interested in coming to Spurs. Also, Robbie Keane would only join Tottenham as a permanent head coach, not on a short-term basis.
Tottenham are interested in Marco Rose and Edin Terzic
While losing out on the likes of Iraola and De Zerbi is disappointing, Tottenham have already shortlisted two more candidates.
According to The Telegraph, the North London club have made known their interest in Marco Rose and Edin Terzic. It is not yet known whether they are being lined up as temporary or permanent candidates.
Spurs have begun holding interviews and speaking with agents, while Mauricio Pochettino was also spotted in London this week – although it is not yet known whether that is related to Spurs.
Terzic is also very much a possibility, as the German is interested in the position at Tottenham. In fact, he has even turned down jobs across Europe in hopes of landing a role in the Premier League.
Marcos Rose most recently managed RB Leipzig between 2022 and 2025, where he managed 72 wins in 128 games, even leading them to a DFB-Pokal victory. He has also managed Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Talking of Dortmund managers, Edin Terzic’s only management experience came with Borussia. Interestingly, he started life as an interim boss in 2020/21, before eventually rejoining as permanent manager from 2022 to 2024. He managed 75 wins in 128 games, also won a DFB-Pokal title, and reached the final of the 2024 Champions League.
Rose and Terzic have both won silverware in recent years
Tottenham would be getting a proven winner in Rose, as he won two Austrian Bundesliga titles with RB Salzburg and a DFB-Pokal at RB Leipzig.
Terzic’s resume is arguably even more impressive, as he has a DFB-Pokal to his name and also took Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final in 2024.
Both would be strong options for Spurs, but there is no guarantee either candidate will receive a job offer, as there is still interest in US national team boss Mauricio Pochettino.
