New 'Charlie's Angels' Movie In the Works from 'Crazy Rich Asians' Writer
A new Charlie’s Angels reboot movie is in the works!
The franchise began as an ABC television series from 1976 to 1981, starring Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith as the original angels.
Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu later led two movie versions in 2000 and 2003, followed by another TV series with a new cast in 2011, which was canceled after just four episodes due to low ratings.
Another movie, starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska, was released in 2019.
Now, Sony Pictures is working on rebooting the franchise yet again!

Pete Chiarelli has been hired to write the screenplay for the upcoming movie. He’s best known for writing movies like The Proposal, Crazy Rich Asians, Now You See Me 2, and the new animated film GOAT.
There’s no word yet on who will star in the movie. THR reports that Drew Barrymore‘s Flower Films production company is attached to the new version.
