A lawsuit seeks to stop Trump's overhaul of a 100-year-old public golf course in Washington

Two golfers in Washington, D.C., have sued the federal government to try to prevent the Trump administration from overhauling a more than 100-year-old public golf course. The lawsuit filed Friday accuses the administration of violating environmental laws and polluting East Potomac Park, a park that is on the National Register of Historic Places and includes the golf course. The Interior Department press office said in an email Friday that it doesn’t comment on pending litigation. But it says it will ensure the course is “safe, beautiful, open, affordable, enjoyable and accessible for people visiting the greatest capital city in the world” in line with President Donald Trump’s agenda.
