Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Reveals UFC Aspirations

Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown has expressed intrigue in pursuing combat sports such as UFC once his NBA days wind down.

In a recent interview, JB revealed he has contemplated stepping into the UFC Octagon or a boxing ring, drawing inspiration from his father Marselles Brown’s professional boxing background.

Brown mentioned the appeal of high-profile exhibitions in boxing that attract non-traditional fighters and boost the sport’s visibility. At 223 pounds, Brown would probably be a heavyweight.

Brown has already initiated conversations with UFC CEO Dana White about potential opportunities in mixed martial arts, though he emphasized that any such move would come after his basketball career.

Brown’s been all over the headlines this year, as his 2025-26 season has been a dominant display.

Through 49 games, Brown has averaged 29.3 points per game, ranking fourth league-wide, alongside 6.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 34.2 minutes. His shooting splits stand at 48.3% from the field, 34.8% from three, and 77.5% from the free-throw line.

JB has been on a tear, scoring 20 or more points in 16 straight games. Earlier peaks included a 50-point explosion on January 3 and consistent double-digit rebounding outings. These career-high marks in scoring, rebounding, and assisting reflect his evolution into a more complete offensive force, helping Boston maintain a strong position heading into the All-Star break.
