States told to take care of stay, travel for ITI trainees

The government is making 150 hours of on-the-job training mandatory for ITI trainees. States and union territories must provide accidental insurance, travel, and accommodation for trainees. This move aims to enhance practical skills and work readiness. Classroom training duration is reduced. Performance of ITIs will now include OJT as a grading parameter. This signals a structured approach to skill development.
