WATCH LIVE: War Sec Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Caine Deliver Press Briefing on Operation Epic Fury Iran Strikes – 8 AM ET
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Air Force General Dan Caine will hold a press briefing this morning amid ongoing military action in Iran under Operation Epic Fury.
Trump announced the operation on Saturday morning.
Trump later released a statement on Truth Social, confirming the death of the Ayatollah and urging the people of Iran to rise up and take over their government.
“The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!” Trump said.
Trump further told reporters that he could “go long and take over the whole thing or end it in two or three days and tell the Iranians: ‘See you again in a few years if you start rebuilding [your nuclear and missile programs].”
Meanwhile, US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets are continuing as Iran fires retaliatory strikes.
At least three US troops have been killed and five seriously injured since the operation began on Saturday.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump provided an update on the operation on Sunday afternoon.
“Combat operations continue at this time in full force, and they will continue until all of our objectives are achieved,” Trump said.
“We have very strong objectives. They could have done something two weeks ago, but they just couldn’t get there.”
Trump further sent a message to the Iranian forces, demanding that they surrender “and receive full immunity or face certain death,” as well as a message of support for the Iranian people to overthrow the government.
The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 8 am ET.
