Chelsea Handler Goes Topless in Bold Message to Men

Chelsea Handler has gathered attention online since posting a video of herself topless in bed, urging her male followers to consider getting vasectomies to reduce pressure on women to manage birth control.

The comedian opened her clip by giving herself a breast exam and referring to herself as "Chesty Handlerberg", before using the opportunity to raise awareness of vasectomies with the catchy slogan "one snip and that's it!"

"As a woman with natural breasts—not that that has anything to do with this," Handler jokes, "it is time to explore vasectomies." The comedian goes on to explain the many reasons women shouldn't be pressured into taking the contracentive pill or using long-acting devices such as IUDs.

"Do you know how painful it is to get an IUD placed? It feels like a mouse trap in your uterus, and sometimes those things don’t even catch all the mice," she explained. “You think I want to be an adult woman with acne or have mood swings, or get a period that’s so heavy it feels like the Hoover Dam just broke? [...] Everybody already hates women enough. I don’t need my insides to join in on the fun.”

A vasectomy is a medical procedure that allows men to have unprotected sex without the risk of unwanted pregnancies. It is generally considered reversible with acute surgury and has an approximate efficiency above 99%.

“Women are tired of making concessions for men, especially in the bedroom," Handler concludes. "So man up, men, and if you can’t do that, enjoy the company of your hands."

Handler's post was met with widespread warmth from both male and female viewers, with commenters praising the bold message and confident execution.

Actress and singer Ashley Benson also commented on the post, writing: "This is everything."

One male commenter even shared his experience of getting a vasectomy: "I got one 10 years ago and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I was uncomfortable for a couple of days, but that’s about it.”

Handler is currently developing a comedy series entitled Townhouse for Hulu, which explores the strained relationship between an ex-reality star and her daughter. Page Six reports that the series will also be written by Zoe Young, a former intern of reality star Sonja Morgan.
