Two-alarm fire breaks out at Campbell apartment complex

CAMPBELL – A two-alarm fire displaced 60 residents and destroyed three cars at an apartment complex Monday in Campbell, fire officials said.

The fire broke out just before 1 p.m. in a carport at the apartment complex, located in the 400 block of Kuehnis Drive, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.

Crews managed to contain the blaze “before it could breach the interior of the nearby apartment units,” the fire department said in a social media post. However, the windows of 10 units suffered heat damage. The fire was knocked down around 1:45 p.m.

Fire officials said electrical line issues also led Pacific Gas & Electric Co. to shut off power to the entire apartment complex.
